Thank you for your thoughtful vote for conservation. As an Environmental Educator, I repeatedly try to find clear and creative ways to explain to children and adults about ways of seeing their relationship to the natural world. This relationship continues to be under siege, is changing in dramatic and unpleasant ways, and is in need of a new way of thinking. The concept of human exceptionalism, as one writer put it: “as expressed in our treatment, use and abuse of other animals, and in the damage we do to the natural environment has paved the way for enormous harm.”
