Tell Our Lawmakers to End Traveling Exotic Animal Performance Acts.
Circus animals lead miserable lives. Confined to cages between shows, constantly being transported long distances, enduring heat and cold, often denied proper nutrition and veterinary care, and forced to perform through the use of bull hooks, electric prods and other painful devices.
New Jersey and Hawaii have outright banded exotic (non-native) animals from circuses and numerous cities across the country, including Boulder, Colorado, have similarly said "no" to acts with elephants, lions, tigers, zebras, seals and other wild animals.
Legislation to make Colorado the third is in the works, but our lawmakers need to know that the public does not tolerate animal abuse and wants exotic animal acts out of the circus.
